Simon was a great bloke; kind, thoughtful and with impeccable music taste! I've worked with him since way back in the early 90s, when art and performing arts were crammed into what seemed like a corridor behind the main building on Durham Road. He was always good-humoured and fair-minded and generally a great person to be around. Just last year, he came down to the theatre for an hour or so to help one of our degree students develop an authentic Borders accent for a play. It was a fun & funny session, getting Simon to read out a letter she had to write to her admirer! We were really grateful for his help. Lovely bloke. RIP Simon.
