Simon's enthusiasm and mischief was infectious, his laughter joyful. He was great craic. You’d be delighted if you made him laugh. I knew Simon a relatively short time but his impact is massive. He loved imparting wisdom he believed you should work hard and be proud of the work that you do. He empathised and understood the students in his care completely. He remembered vividly being in there place, the glee of skipping a class or two dodging a bit of homework. This understanding didn't stop him chasing them down though. Free food, googley eyes, tiny rubber hands brought him so much joy, simple pleasures but really what could be more fun? Like many of us I’ve been stunned and stuck in complete misbelief that Simon has been taken, especially from his young family and amazing wife. When he spoke of Amelia and Adam his eyes lit up he was so proud and delighted by them. You will be missed by everyone, Simon.
