I first met Simon and Karen back in the days of Durham Road, I have a particular memory of chatting to them at a lively Christmas party in the performing arts drama studio. Simon was such a lovely man, and all though many here have expressed how much they thought of him as a colleague, as well as that side of him in our family we have first hand experience as him as a much - admired and inspiring tutor to a sensitive teenager embarking on a first diploma and level 3 after an unhappy school experience, who under Simon's encouragement went on to achieve a really good degree from University and subsequent excellent job.
